Vicki Uriarte’s culinary philosophy is embodied in the maxim, no matter what you make, make it with heart.

With over 25 years of experience as a restaurateur and caterer in Sydney and London, Vicki has had the chance to explore and focus on many styles of cooking. Her food has been adventurous and engaging, intelligent and textural; she understands fresh and down-to-earth, light and healthy.

And through it all, her love for cooking has not wavered.

She started in the late eighties with a small company called Water for Chocolate Catering, quickly picking up clients like Apple Macintosh. She then built on her culinary expertise in the early nineties, co-owning Laurie’s Vegetarian in Darlinghurst with her business partner and husband, Andy Lloyd.

In the mid-nineties Vicki went back to her catering roots and, with business partner Jo Stratfold, set up Food With Relish Catering. Here she honed her talents while catering for some of Sydney’s most prestigious events, including major Olympic events sponsored by Fuji Xerox.

After an 8-year stint at The London School of Economics, Vicki’s love of interesting locations and people found her working amongst Sydney’s most iconic industrial structures on Cockatoo Island.

She then started up Urban Cooking Collective in 2013, and hasn’t looked back. With her fun and talented team, she has been crafting wonderful, exciting foods for events, TV and film shoots, client launches, and private parties.
